Design it, Build it 2010
On Tuesday I headed down to Newcastle’s latest conference DIBI (Design it, Build it).
I was actually pretty excited about this conference as it catered for both sides of the web; designers and developers. Something that really appealed to me was the fact that the organisers let you float between halls at your discretion, meaning that you weren’t stuck in the same room all day, listening to talks that you might not be interested in.
I’m not going to into any of the talks because most of the speakers will publish their slides on their own website and I don’t think I could do them justice by trying to write about them here.
Of the people I’ve spoken to, nobody has had a bad word to say about the conference. So if you’re fed up of attending the same boring conferences that run year in, year out then you couldn’t go far wrong with purchasing a ticket for DIBI 2011. How could you possibly say no to a conference full of excellent speakers, free food throughout the day, two nights of free bars and around 120 pizzas.
Personal highlights included:
- Seeing an old age pensioner driving down the A34 on his motobility scooter.
- Tuesdays Strawberry Daiquiri escapade.
- The sick on my travelodge wall from the previous guest.
- Watching that Daniel O’Donnell video.
I’m not going to write down everyone I met during the last three days, so if you’re reading this it was a pleasure meeting you all.
