Project 52 relaunched
It looks like I’m a little late in discovering the news that project52, which I’m currently taking part in, has been relaunched. Incase you are unaware of what project52 actually is, it is a challenege that bloggers can take up where they will publish one blog post a week for a year.
Initially the challenge was to run from 1st of January 2010 – 1st January 2011. However, upon checking the website today I have discovered that the project has been restarted as of today, St. Patrick’s Day. It appears to me that they are looking for everyone to wipe the slate clean and start again.
However, I feel that this a little unfair on those of us who were more than ready for the start of the year and have so far managed to publish a blog post every week. I have therefore decided to take the decision that I will be continuing as I had originally planned and I will finish on the proposed date of 1st of January 2011.

I would love to have taken part in something like that if/ I thought I could generate a decent article every week. I’ve only really been blogging properly about a year and a half, and in the early days it was a lonely experience (and still is at times).
Since the start of the new year I have started engaging with more micro-blog’s like Posterous and Tumblr so I can blog every day, and it won’t clutter my own website with random stuff. I user my Posterous as a middle ground between twitter and my blog, so it’s more like a visual twitter updated every day. I find for me that’s the best way to keep blogging and maintain some healthy quality on my own website.
I look forward to seeing what articles you publish though in the coming weeks!
See, I started this along with you and the many other people who took part in p52 on the 1st of January and I think it’s been great so far (not the project itself, but actually getting me motivated to post at least once a week on my blog).
I’m likely going to continue doing it until the end of the year, and probably keep doing it after that (assuming I still have something good to say).
He did mention on p52 that he was wanting to do something special for those who had been doing it since 1st of Jan – not sure what that would be, but it seems like he understands changing the start date was annoying to some people who started the project already.
Having a crack at restarting my P52 as well on the new blog.
Good luck with the rest of the year!
