Two Dribbble Invites To Giveaway

So as you might have already guessed from the title I’ve got two invites to Dribbble to give away.

I understand that most people will have theirs already but there are still a fair few people looking and I’ve decided to raffle them away, as I believe it’s the fairest solution. However, I won’t be giving them away to anyone; I want my “draftees” to be of the highest quality.

How do I enter

  1. Leave a comment below posting a link to your favourite bit of artwork you’ve produced. This can be anything from an invitation through to a full blown website design.
  2. Tell me why this is your favourite piece of work.

That’s it, no catches, no dirty tricks. I’ll close this competition next Friday, the 11th of June, where I’ll close the comments section and email the lucky two.

Best of luck.

I’m not that great but I know that getting feedback from the great designers already on Dribbble will help me a lot, here’s one of my pieces http://aromeroonline.com/post/635496754 thanks.

    Hello Jack,

My name is Alex Swanson and I have been trying to hunt a dribble invite for sometime now. But the invites only come out so often and I’m still pretty fresh in the community. However, I would make an excellent draftee!

Here’s one of my favorite works ~ http://alexswanson.net/work/el-spring/

It’s one of my favorites because I love to draw inspiration from events or experiences in life. Creating imaginary scenery based off those experiences mixed with some imagination is always a joy for me.

    Best of luck to all,

    Alex

My favourite bit of art work has to be this Logo…

I did it for a client a few years back. The company ran network cable for new and existing buildings. Unfortunately the branding was short lived and the company went under.

  4. Morphix says:

    Hey,

my favorite work is my website: http://www.morphix.si

I hope you like it, I would love to get an dribbble invite.

  5. Alex Gibson says:

    Hi,

I’d liketo submit not only the site here, but also the web apps hosted within it:

    http://miniapps.co.uk

I make web apps for iPhone, iPad and Android using a lot of html5 and css3. Since I’m targeting advanced mobile browsers, all my UI design work is done in browser. No images were hurt creating these apps, it’s all CSS3 :)

  6. Himanshu says:

    Design/Photography is my passion.
And that is what is shown on this page.

    Cheers

  7. http://ludwiczakpawel.com/index.php – you have to enter with /index.php at the end… this is my latest design and there’s still no content yet (there was no time for uploading my layouts ;) )… but if you will maximize your browser window on some big screen you will be able to see design I’ve made in one piece – textures, effects, everything..

and answering to your 2nd qustion is quite hard so I can only say that I love it because I was able to use all awesome textures and I really fall in love in my header :)

  8. This poster is one of my favorite pieces i have designed.

    http://www.gigposters.com/poster/65912_Tijuana_Knife_Fight.html

started it out as a person art piece, but ended up getting asked at the same time to make a poster for the band about the time i finished the main piece. added there info about the show. i loved the design so much i turned it into a tattoo.

  9. Josue Abreu says:

My favorite piece of work it’s http://pm.cld-it.com, why? Because it’s some sort of “control page” for a project for school I’m working on :-)

I’m majoring in Computer Science and I started venturing into the Web Design World a bit ago, and it was one of first pieces of work that i made for the school project and i just loved the outcome of it :-)

  10. Actually I don’t have a favorite piece. I love what I do and I do all different things. I feel different emotions for certain things and can’t chose one piece above the other one.

  11. Kyle says:

    This is my favourite piece:

    http://www.kyleschruder.com/?p=136

I do a lot of print / magazine design normally, but this was my first time really pushing myself to do something cool in Photoshop. I was quite happy with the results! Hopefully I can get in on Dribbble, I’ve been dying to find a way to collaborate & communicate more with other designers.

Hello Jack, I’ve sent you an email regarding this competition, unfortunately I can’t show the piece of work that I worked on to the general public, as it would be more than my job is worth but I’m still leaving a comment to register.

  14. Hi Jack,

I’m a multimedia and web designer and a teaching professor of multimedia and web design at the IUAV University of Venice and ISIA University of Urbino [both in Italy].

Dribble could be very useful for our courses and students.

Our studio URL [work in progress] is in Website data.

    Our last work: http://zenshinji.org.

    Our students Vimeo channel: http://vimeo.com/channels/unimedia.

  15. Sacha says:

Hi! Thanks for giving away your invites!

I’m a UI & web designer from France. My favorite piece is probably the work I did on Le Monde’s new iPad and iPhone app:

    http://www.sachagreif.com/le-monde/

Of course it was exciting to work for a brand new medium like the iPad, but I’m especially proud of it because I know this is something that a lot of people will use, and hopefully it will make their day a tiny bit better :)

  16. Hi Jack, Thanks for providing these invites.

I would like Dribbble invite, if I deserve that great designers community.

I do web-design and this is my latest client work:
    http://nmcmobile.com/

I also do some desktop customization stuffs and paintings on my deviantART page:
    http://khashiguana.deviantart.com

and here is a shot of my WIP portfolio website:

  17. Hey Jack!

Always excited for a shot at a dribbble account!

Here’s a link to some of my favorite work:
    http://www.myspace.com/sharksfire

It’s a simple Myspace I designed for the band I play in. I picked it because while I like my band’s actual CD art better, this site accents the design well and because it also contains the music I put my heart into, it means that much more to me.

Anyways, I would love to have an account as a budding graphic designer and thank you for the opportunity!

Good form in not making people jump through hoops for an invite.

http://www.stuarttraynor.com/portfolio/mutts-and-mops/ is something I’ve impressed myself with recently. Not so much for the technicalities or skill in creating it but more for creating something apt for the brief.

  19. Kean says:

Thought I’d throw my hat in the ring…

    http://www.keanrichmond.com/a-new-design-part-3.html – some jpg’s of a site that’s still under construction
    http://twitpic.com/1ta8bd – Logo design

I like the site design because I enjoy trying the break the standard layout of a blog and turn it more into a site that just happens to run on WordPress and have a blog.

The logo I like because I was able to work on something where I managed to use negative space really effectively. Although it’s rather simple it communicates effectively what the company does.

  20. Hi ya

I’d love to be part of dribbble. Here’s a link to my website ( http://www.ramjam.co.uk ) I’m very proud of it and hope you like it.

    Thanks
    Bevan

  21. Hi Jack,

My favourite piece of work is probably the site I designed for my company, SOLID.

While designing the site I was experimenting with a number of new CSS3 and HTML5 elements, and so was able to use the site to showcase some of those. Also, I’m pleased with how the muted colour scheme brings out the colours of the portfolio pieces.

Cheers. Look forward to running into you at Build.

  22. cruster says:

My latest piece of work: http://www.reklamavovytahu.eu
It’s favorite, because its the most recent :)

  23. Kiki says:

This is a design for a tshirt that I did called Chutes & Ladders & U.S.

I thought it was all around a great idea.

  24. Jeroen says:

    My favorite work is: http://www.metaalwerkenbijnens.be

Why? Because it’s my brothers company, i did de website for free and he just looooved the design and he has been very succesfull since (ooh’s and aaah’s and an enormous amount of people asking for a quotation through the contact page…)

  25. You can view some of my pieces of work at http://joshcollie.deviantart.com/gallery/ until I finish up my portfolio. Of those piece I would say my favourite is either the portfolio piece or Dundee redesign although I have something coming out in a few months I’d really like to be able to get feedback and tease parts about of which I’m most proud. I’d also like to represent Scotland a little more than it has been in design.

Keep up the great posts and good luck to everyone else commenting. Some nice work here.

  26. Sorry to double post, managed to cut and not re-paste the reasoning haha. The reason I like the Dundee design is that it sticks very clearly to the similar layout the website currently has yet drastically changes the visual style and feel without a lot of changes. It has every element the current site has yet tries to accomplish a better readability by simple resizing and repositioning the elements as to give the user a proper flow through the page an a purpose at the end of it. The current site also has no real use of the logo colours so I’ve attempted to give it a clean distinction as to the use of colours from the logo that would be used throughout the site.

I would say this project I did for a skate brand called Anti Fung Shui is my fav………This is down to the fact it covered a wide range of work from the branding to tshirts, adverts and a website…..

    Thanks..

  29. Jack:

A Dribbble invite would be great.

My favorite piece is my new portfolio site:

    Thanks for the contest.

  30. Gareth says:

Jack, what a fun idea! I’ve been trying to get my hands on a Dribbble invite for some time now too, as have most people it seems.

I’m hard pressed to pick a favorite piece of mine, as my work is pretty varied, as I serve several very different industries. I do traditional graphic design (serving clients such as Coca-Cola, Yahoo!, etc.), illustration (mostly in the music industry – I have even done artwork for a U.S. top-10 bestselling album), and most recently in the field of environment design (essentially corporate branding in an interior space).

I’d say my favorite design piece is something I created for Coca-Cola, to be used as a mural in a refreshment station for an environmentally-conscious nature-themed theme park:
    http://www.garethbotha.com/full/hydration.jpg

My favorite illustration piece is is probably this artwork that was commissioned to be used in an illustrated poetry book:

  31. C. Tran says:

    Hi Jack,

Came across your posts on Twitter and hope I’m not too late to submit some work:

    http://www.behance.net/gallery/Typographic-Posters/480224

This project was a series of posters inspired by different typographic eras. The Neoclassical and Victorian versions that I had originally done as paste-up boards, with each letter was hand-kerned. Eventually, I converted the layouts to a digital format. Lots of work, but very rewarding and greatly improved my sense of typography.

My favorite in the series is an updated boxing poster inspired by early 1900′s advertisements for similar events.

I had a lot a fun with this project, and I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for the consideration — Christine

  32. Jack Osborne says:

Thank you to everyone for the submissions, there are some great pieces of work for me to look through. I’ll email the winners during the weekend.
